While last night's Critics' Choice Movie Awards isn't part of traditional Awards Season coverage, it's another opportunity to see some of Hollywood's finest (and most tragic) gather together on a crimson-colored carpet. Carpet-grazing gowns were clearly the choice of the evening, seen on the likes of Amber Rose, Annette Bening, Christine Teigan, Emily Blunt, Katie Aselton, Kim Kardashian, Leslie Bibb, Mandy Moore, Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and Nicole Kidman. Mila Kunis, Keri Hilson, Eva Mendes and rising it girl Elle Fanning chose mini dresses, while Khloe Kardashian, Helena Bonham Carter and Michelle Williams opted for asymmetrical fishtail gowns. Most confusing were Amy Adams, Julianne Moore and Sophia Vergara's tea-length dresses. Could this become a new red carpet favorite?
Best dressed of the evening is a tie between Eva Mendes, for her lacy nude mini dress with a bow accent on the shoulder, and relative newcomer Katie Aselton's sheer Grecian-inspired dress.
Worst dressed of the night (Kardashian's aside) goes to Emily Blunt - as much as I love her, her recent appearances (including this one) leave her looking dour and uninspired. Hopefully her choices will pick up momentum for the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.
