When life gets especially crazy, sometimes it's the simplest pleasures that yield the highest reward. It's been a hectic week and there is absolutely nothing that I love more than spending a weekend in, relaxing and reorganizing, so that on Monday I can begin again. Naturally, part of my weekend involves a great cup of coffee and fashion magazines, but in the heat of the summer, there is no way I'm consuming hot liquids.
After I received my Keurig Platinum Brewing System at Robert Verdi's Mother's Day Tweetup, I went a little crazy shopping for K-Cups. I loved all the flavor, brew and tea options, plus I loved the idea that I didn't have to drink the same type of coffee every day until the cannister was finished. After all, a gal needs options.
This was when I discovered the French Vanilla Iced Coffe K-Cup. Could I really make my regular summer Starbucks order of choice at home? The simple answer is yes.
Just now, I brewed a very large cup for myself. I used the largest mug setting on the brewer, poured a packet of Steevia into my venti sized Starbucks iced coffee cup and hit the brew button. After I let the cofee cool for a few minutes (it brews hot), I dropped as many ice cubes in as my tumbler would hold. As much as I hate to admit it, I enjoy it more than the Starbucks version.
When the weather isn't behaving, I became as grateful for my Keurig as I was the day I brought it home. For me, it's one of life's little luxuries.
What have you done for yourself today?
