When I received this information, I admittedly got a little emotional. Alzheimer's is a disease that is very close to my heart, and certainly a cause that I wish I was more involved in. On Friday, March 2, HSN will launch the Rita Hayworth Collection during a special HSN Cares event hosted by Alzheimer's champion and Miss America 1971, Phyllis George. From March 1 to March 31, 10% of the sales of the jewelry Collection will go to benefit the Alzheimer's Association.
The Rita Hayworth Collection is inspired by pieces from the famed actress' own collection. The screen legend lost her own battle with Alzheimer's in 1987. “We are excited by this unique opportunity that HSN is creating to promote awareness and eventually find a cure for this devastating disease,” said Angela Geiger, chief strategy officer at the Alzheimer’s Association. “Sharing Rita Hayworth’s connection to the disease by creating a beautiful line of jewelry not only honors the life of this Hollywood legend; it brings much needed awareness to a disease that far too few understand, even today.”
The Rita Hayworth Collection ranges in price from $24.95 to $129.95. The pieces can be seen as part of the HSN Cares event airing March 2 at 10 & 11pm or shop the collection online now.
