Fashion Fix: Baublebar’s Personalized Pieces

It’s no secret that I love Baublebar. I’m obsessed with the affordable price points, the fashion-forward approach to jewelry and, naturally, the recent collaboration with DKNY. Just in time for the pretty preppy spring trends, BaubleBar released a new series of personalized jewelry.

In just 3 – 5 weeks, you can have your very own personalized pieces, from initials to monograms, for $152 and under. There’s something so organic and comforting about monograms. Sure, you can get your initials embroidered on your towels or a plush bathrobe, or if you’re extra posh, on your Louis Vuitton luggage.

BaubleBar’s collection of custom pieces is pretty extensive. For example, you can customize:

Octagon Initial Bracelet, $50

Initial Stud Earrings, $50

Hexagon Pendant Necklace, $52

Engraved Monogram Necklace, $152

Plus, they offer the classic nameplate necklace or, if you’re feeling tech-chic, a Twitter nameplate version.

Since I’m a bit sentimental, I love the idea of personalized jewelry (and wear a few pieces of my own). How do you feel about the trend?

Accessorize Me: BaubleBar Makes A Statement

A couple of weeks ago, I made a trip to Bauble Bar’s NYC office to take a little play in the showroom. The trays were filled with stunning pieces, both large and small, for me to play with, photograph and marvel over. If you aren’t familiar with BaubleBar, it’s a fun new jewelry site that offers pieces for every budget and taste level. What makes BaubleBar different than some of the other jewelry sites that have just launched is that BaubleBar is not a subscription service. See a piece you like? You’re free to pick it up at any time (before it sells out, naturally).

I picked a few of my favorite statement pieces from the site, but there’s tons more. Plus, score $10 off your first order just for creating an account. So the only real question that remains – what are you waiting for?

On The Plus Side: Kiss My Sass

HIJ_3936-1

I’ve never shied away from sharing my opinion – even when it wasn’t requested. My mouth has always gotten me into trouble, but it has also been what some of my nearest & dearest love most about me. Maybe that’s why I’ve always gravitated towards lip prints. I’ll put my money where my mouth is!

Being raised by a New Yorker in Arkansas made me a fighter. I was never the type sit on my hands or become a shrinking violet. Looking back I always wonder how certain situations didn’t break me, but instead pushed me to become even stronger. Isn’t it life funny that way?

When I saw this skirt on SimplyBe’s website, I knew I immediately had to have it. A lip print on my a$$? Yes please. Whenever I wear it, I feel extra, super sassy with a need to walk like three men are walking behind me (thanks, Oscar!).

Look details: Lip print skirt: SimplyBe | Pink tee: Old Navy (similar) | Sunglasses: BCBG (similar) | Clutch: Patricia Field | Chunky chain necklace: BaubleBar (similar) | D’orsay pumps: Nine West (similar) |

On The Plus Side: Stripes For ModCloth

IMG_9012

In celebration of the launch of their plus size category, ModCloth invited some plus size blogging ladies to join them for a blogger summit and the launch of their (now closed) pop up store. They had wanted us to select some pieces from the site to wear, but since their relaunched sizing hadn’t yet launched, I selected a few accessories instead. My thoughts on ModCloth’s new sizing to come, but first the outfit details:

Sunnies: Ice Cream or Cola Sunglasses from ModCloth

White button down: Lane Bryant (similar here and here)

Striped scarf: Bow to Stern Scarf from ModCloth

Black skirt: a TJ Maxx find (similar here and here)

On The Plus Side: Pony Up

You’re probably wondering where i’ve been, and trust me when I say the guilty is heavy. I was sick for most of January like most of NYC, and i’m finally getting my groove back. Naturally during one of my first days out since Christmas (you read that correctly), I had to dress up! We went for tea, attended the launch of SimplyBe’s Spring 2013 collection, and I fielded a ton of questions about my ultra-vibrant red hair. I’d just dyed my hair with Garnier’s new Olia haircolor in 6.60, Light Intense Auburn. My full thoughts will be up tomorrow!

I’ve worn versions of this look before, like here, but never in the cold of winter with tights. For the record, I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about colored tights, but in this case I really don’t mind the look. Onto the outfit details!

Coat: SimplyBe (currently on sale!)

Pony sweater: Torrid (no longer available)

Brown wool skirt: IGIGI (no longer available)

Green satchel: Halogen via Nordstrom Rack (similar here and here)

Cranberry tights: Roaman’s

Ankle booties: UGG (exact style no longer available, but similar here and here)

Rose gold necklace: BaubleBar (exact style no longer available, but similar here)
