Let's admit it - these days we expect a lot from our products. Not only does the packaging have to be appealing, but we also expect excellent product performance, plus added benefits (aromatherapy, nutrients, paraben free, etc). Everything has to be hard, better, faster, stronger - in the words of Daft Punk & Kanye West, of course.

Well respected beauty brand Molton Brown, widely known for their body care products, has launched a new line called Body Remedies, targeted to treat both body and mind. A few of these products arrived at my door mere minutes ago, and I couldn't wait to share a few details.

There are three concentrations within the collection: Renew, Hydrate and Sleep. You might remember how much I flipped for Amala's Refresh Peppermint Room & Linen Mist, so I naturally gravitated to the sleep products first.

The Cedrus Temple Soother is a product I'm looking forward to trying out (tonight, naturally). It's a portable pulse-point remedy, designed to promote relaxation and good rest. Who can't use that?

From the Renew line, the Ambrusca Wash & Scrub has also moved to the top of the In Shower Wait List (with a beauty obsession as strong as mine, one must stay organized). Ground olive stones are the driving exfoliating force in this multitasking product.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Hydrate collection.  The Desert Bloom Body Quencher smells delicious and comforting, while hydrating without over-greasing.

Whew - looking back at the whirlwind that was New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011 honestly gives me a headache (really, I have one right now!). I had the opportunity to see so many amazing pieces, fantastic makeup and meet really special people. Being backstage really is an opportunity to see the best, brightest and newest in beauty and fashion. Here are a few of my favorite things that I saw:

• Incoco Dry Nail Appliques: A nail polish applique (think sticker, but actual polish) that has lasted 6 days (so far) with minimal chipping - and no peeling. So obsessed. A photo of my leopard print is here.
• Ricky's No Frizz Combs: I met THE Ricky of Ricky's NYC (really - he's a real person!) backstage and he introduced me to his innovative No Frizz Combs. These combs have olive oil infused into the product that helps to eliminate frizz and smooth the hair shaft. Really - it works!
• Speaking of Ricky's NYC, he also introduced me to new No-Crease Bow Clips that help to keep hair pulled back off your face, without adding the crease of normal clips. Usually the hair teams backstage use clips with tissues underneath to prevent clips, but lets be honest - who wants to see that?
• Son Jung Wan: Gorgeous, gorgeous dresses. Any designer who can get Kristi Yamaguchi front row is seriously okay with me.
• Starbucks Frappuccinos may  not be great for getting my motor going first thing in the morning, but when you mix them with liquor - not so bad!
• Side note: The cell reception at Lincoln Center? Truly abysmal. The newly revamped AOL Stylelist Press Lounge? A++!

Let's face it - Fashion Week can sometimes feel like a spinning wheel of brands paying an insane amount of money for seasonal media attention. However, getting up at 5am without coffee is generally impossible, so those of us making the hike to Lincoln Center have to rely on whichever coffee sponsor decides to sign on. Starbucks Frapuccinos have been with us for several seasons an while walking to the backstage entrances, I spied this massive palette of caffeine. America may run on Duncan, but for 14 days a year, fashion runs on Starbucks Frappuccinos.

The backstage at Rachel Roy was....mania, to say the least. The space was small and there were many, many people in a small space, all trying to do their job. Needless to say, I got in and got out as quickly as possible.

To mach Rachel Roy's inspiration of a modern noman, Bobbi Brown developed glamour for the jetsetter, complementing the rustic colors of the clothing with earthy shades and contoured cheeks. The skin was matte, a recurring theme this season, with a contoured and bronzed cheek. For the eyes, Bobbi selected Olive Sparkle eyeshadow, with Copper Cocoa Shimmerwash eyeshadow. To complete the eyes, Extreme Lash Glamour Lengthening mascara was used.

For the lips, the girls wore Twig Rich Lip Color.

Another show with Tom Pecheux - could I be so lucky? Badgley Mischka was nothing like I expected - but of course, that was before I knew that Tom was the key makeup artist!

The look is hyper glamorized, with icy silver lids, grey and blue shadows on the crease. Lots of eyeliner, brows and mascara to give the models that "finished" look. Platinum pigment was pressed into the lids for a bonus metallic effect. Haute & Naughty mascara was used for extra drama.

On the lips, Tom wanted a berry stained lip, so he opted for a new lipstick called One Of A Kind. The look was polished, sophisticated and grown up.

The instant that I stepped backstage at Badgley Mischka, I knew that Moroccanoil had to be behind the hair. No other beauty brand can scent an entire backstage area with their products.

The key stylist, Peter Grey, created an updo that was inspired by film stars of the 40's & 50's, celebrating the strength & sophistication of the iconic leading ladies, like Bette Davis.

To achieve this look, Peter first treated the hair with Moroccanoil, to strengthen, condition & revitalize the hair. Next, he used the Hydrating Styling Cream to eliminate frizz & add definition. To polish the look, he added the Glimmer Shine Spray & the Luminous Hairspray, all by Moroccanoil.
