Truthfully, I don't get my hair cut as often as I should. In fact, I generally only get it cut surrounding New York Fashion Week. Somehow, I convinced myself that my hair was looking good (admittedly, it was quite healthy) and that the length was good. Little did I know what I was in for when I entered Davide Torchio's salon.
Davide Torchio is genius. I say this not only because of the amazing angled bob his hands precisely shaped out of that horrific mop, but the work he did on a recent editorial that actually let me to find Lance Bass attractive. During our consultation, I gave Davide near free reign over my hair - my only stipulation was that I not have bangs. Not that I'm opposed to a little fringe, however they just don't work with my oily skin & hair.
Before he began to work on my hair, I noticed he was giving a client in the chair behind me a sleek bob. Her hair looked phenomenal - to the point that everyone in the salon took notice. The shape was fantastic and her hair had energy and bounce. After seeing how breathtaking her hair was, I had complete confidence in Davide.
He explained my cut to me as a "French bob" - to me, it feels a little more Victoria Beckham - but either way, it looks phenomenal. It's shorter in the back - I've never had my hair this short - and becomes longer as you move towards my face, coming to an amazing, angled end. Needless to say, my friends now "gasp", "oooh" and "aaah" when I walk into a room. This hair commands attention!
Needless to say, I'm pretty convinced I don't want anyone to touch my hair again. We had such a delightful time together, we are already planning my next Fashion Week makeover. It's never too soon - is it?
