Dita Von Teese X Wonderbra - Official Postcards
What kind of fashion/celebrity blogger would I be if I didn't take a break from regularly scheduled On The Plus Side coverage to bring you the latest in Dita Von Teese photos. In case you missed our first look at Dita Von Teese X Wonderbra collaboration, here are the official publicity postcards for the launch. She's alluring yet approachable, gorgeous but not unattainable - it is The Science of Sexy and she's cracked the code. Check out the official Science of Sexy video for more!
Patricia Field: Destination Style Spring 2009 Runway Video
As promised, here is the footage of Patricia Field's Destination Style Runway show. Check out how much fun not only the crowd (including the cast of ABC's Ugly Betty) but the models had putting on the performance driven show. In case you mised it the first time around, don't forget to check out the photos from the show.
On The Plus Side: A Fuller Figured Fashion Week Experience - Outfit For 9/6

Unfortunately, I was so immersed in the fashion Week bubble for weeks beforehand that I had absolutely no idea a hurricane/tropical storm/torrential rainstorm was approaching. After running into a multi-season friend who informed me she was sure to be out of the tents by 2pm that day because she's supposedly seen the roof ripped right off.
While it must have been nice to skip out before the storm hit, some of us *cough* had to stay and work. As the afternoon wore on and the rain came pouring down, everyone's energy began to drain. Offsite shows had to be a mess, because everyone who was in the tents stayed in the tents.
Although when 8pm rolled around there was NOTHING that was going to stop me from making my way to the Patricia Field: Destination Style show. Huddled under an umbrella, carrying my two Kipling bags and wearing my Kathryn Kerrigan booties I made my way the 7 blocks to the Edison Ballroom.
The show was fantastic - one big celebration. At the end of the show, the models danced on the runway. It was the perfect ending to a rather dreary day. Great news though - even though I was completely soaked through and through from the tropical storm, my belongings were 100% dry, safely protected by my Kipling bags. Not to mention I had made it all day in the Kathryn Kerrigan booties. Fashion & comfort? No way!
New York Fashion Week - Cynthia Rowley Spring 2009 Runway Show
Gal pal Kimmie of The Kitten Lounge and I made our way far over to the West Side during New York Fashion Week to catch Cynthia Rowley's Spring 2009 Runway Show. At first we were a bit disappointed because standing (which we were assigned) left us placed behind a very large seating riser reminiscent of high school football games. After waiting about 30 minutes, the crowd broke and rushed towards the seating area. Kimmie and I were very fortunate to make it to the very front row at the beginning of the runway. The video you see above is the reward for the long treck to the West side and all that standing. Even though you can't tell from the video, Gossip Girl's Blake Lively was sitting front row of the show. No wonder there were so many flash bulbs going off!

New York Fashion Week - MAC Face Charts For Tuesday 9/9
Rodarte, Derek Lam and Halston - the three heavy hitters MAC cosmetics did the makeup for on 9/9 are diversified. Rodarte is known for it's English countryside influences, while Derek Lam is a go-to amongst the social elite. And Halston - well, let's just say that Harvy Weinstein (the man funding and sleeping with Marchesa's Georgina Chapman) has ran into his fair share of roadblocks attempting to revive the iconic brand. These things obviously influence the way the brand is perceived, but nothing can change perception like a fresh coat of makeup. Check out how MAC artists interpreted these brands for Spring 2009.
On The Plus Side: A Fuller Figured Fashion Week Experience - The Slimming Savior
I don't usually like to hail a product as the next greatest thing, but in this case, I just can't help myself.
Remember that day with all the falling? Well without the Miracle Suit High Waist Thigh Slimmer, the whole world would have seen my goodies and some un-goodies. Combine multiple falls with laying on xray tables and you have a day made for flashing disasters.
I've always been the kind of gal to feel a bit uncomfortable in skirts and dresses. Don't get me wrong, I love to wear them, but I'm always worried about my thighs rubbing together or the sudden breeze blowing my skirt up for the whole neighborhood to see.
I'm not going to lie - this thing is serious. The tag says you can look like you lost 10 pounds, and that's probably true. I love the smoothing effect almost more than I love the slimming aspect. Who wants their lumps and bumps on display for everyone to see. However, I do highly recommend you allow extra time for the bathroom - in both getting there and leaving. Due to the intense nature of this garment, the first couple of times you put it on, you will be frustrated (I'm not going to lie). But after you see the incredible results, you'll be willing to put up with the added effort.
I also love that I no longer have to worry about my thighs rubbing together. Since this shaper covers both my thighs and my tummy area, I feel neatly tucked, secure, and rub free. Now everytime I wear a dress or skirt, you can bet a Sephora giftcard that I am wearing my Miracle Suit.
Where else can you get that kind of comprehensive insurance for $40? Even AllState can't cover your rear.
New York Fashion Week - MAC Face Charts For Monday 9/8
The graphics for the daily MAC face charts are so darn gorgeous. A bit Diane Von Fursteburg, a bit Andy Warhol, but always in full color. Monday, September 8, brought the appearance of the fashionable heavy hitters - Carolina Herrera, Catherine Malandrino and Proenza Schouler.
I'm really glad to see the looks for Spring aren't resigning to creamy nudes and shrinking violets. For more information on the powerhouse looks, check out the images below.
On The Plus Side: A Fuller Figured Fashion Week Experience - Beauty For Friday 9/5

If it's not broke....don't fix it edition.
Even though Thursday was such a disaster, I felt pretty darn great about my makeup that I brought it back for a second time on the opening day of New York Fashion Week.
There are so many things I love about this look. It is heavily influenced by Dita Von Teese's red carpet looks, with the scarlet lips, brightened eye lids and flawless skin.
Using NARS Artist Palette #9941 allowed me to experience what all the hoopla was truly about surrounding The Multiple. I have recently began to appreciate cream based blushes and The Multiple certainly delivers. The smooth creamy formula makes it easy to smooth the color on in your desired strength, and the color easily translates onto your lips. In terms of the shade Malibu, I find it easily similar to Dolce Vita, even though there is a Dolce Vita shade in The Multiple.
It is not uncommon for me to wear a white/beige eyeshadow with a strong line. I really appreciate both Night Star and India Song eyeshadows from NARS for their compatibility with MAC's Soft Ochre Paint Pot. If a color is too white, you can look silly, and if a color is too beige the color oxidizes into a brown. Soft Ochre ensures the base remains pure, and India Song is the perfect all over color. Night Star adds just enough sparkle to make you feel special.
Coming soon, I'll be raving about how much I LOVE FACEAtelier's Ultra Foundation, despite it's $42 price tag. It uses silicone technology to create a smooth, flawless finish.
