Reader Allie M asks:
I was wondering how much longer Ugg boots (classic ones) will stay in fashion? I was thinking of buying classic short ones in sand but I didn't know if it would be worth the money if they will go out of fashion quickly?
Dearest Allie,
We hate to be the ones to break this to you, but Uggs haven't been in style for about 2 years now. They've passed their 15 minutes of fame, just like seizure inducing bags with sequined pailletes, and initial necklaces. You may find yourself drawn to these hideous furry creations because you see celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon, Pamela Anderson and Madonna traipsing around town in them. What you might have failed to notice is that those celebrities dressed themselves in their sweatsuits and casual attire, and failed to pay any attention to their personal hygiene.
Uggs are winter's version of flip flops. They're lazy, overly casual and show a general disregard for your appearance. Extreme winter conditions are the only acceptable reason to purchase and wear Uggs. If you're on the hunt for chic winter boots, they're out there, trust us. You should see how fierce we look pushing through Buffalo snow.

While purchasing skincare for Mr. Man, our Beauty Bank at Sephora hit $100, and we were eligible for a deluxe sample which Sephora happened to have in store. Once we saw Laura Geller's Lip Stay in Pout ($13) as a sample option, we were intrigued. The color is a rosy brown with gold flecks, and we can't resist a stay put gloss.
As with most long-wear products, Lip Stay features a clear topcoat to be applied after the lip color dries. While applying the color, we marveled at how lovely & opaque the shade actually was, and how well it complimented our light olive skintone. As the color coat began to dry, it initially became sticky and dried into plastic feeling coat. We waited 2 minutes before applying the glossy topcoat.
Admittedly we love to wear lipgloss around the house, and this Sunday was no exception. After drinking a glass of water and eating a piece of toast we checked our reflection. Our lips were left tacky from the topcoat, but the color was barely visible.
Pros: The colored end of the gloss perfectly complimented our light olive skintone and the topcoat end was very glossy.
Cons: The gloss balled up and rolled off our lips after the first sign of resistance, similar to other "stay put" formulas, barely visible after a snack & a drink.
Verdict: If Geller made a gloss the same shade as Pout, we'd buy it in an instant. However, Lip Stay didn't stay put on our lips.

When we first received a bottle of Diesel's Fuel For Life fragrance, we were hesitant. The combination of notes straight out of the bottle smell familiar, almost like deja vu. It was only after wearing this fragrance for a week we began to change our minds.
Fuel For Life features notes of jasmine, madarin, patchouli, pink pepper, raspberry, black currant & musk. Once the scent mixes with our body chemistry, the scent becomes musky & soft, evoking a warm feeling. The fragrance doesn't seem to have an evening sensibility, but speaks to us on a more practical, daytime office level.
We look for fragrances that speak to us. Whether they evoke a mood, feeling, or even draw us to a setting, we expect to be as moved by fragrance as we are by music. Diesel's Fuel For Life is certainly not a horrible fragrance by any stretch, however we feel it is a more casual scent than the branding attempts to position it as.
Diesel has created several commercials, which can be found here.

During Fashion Week, we managed to sneak away and pop into the Lush store near Union Square. We'd never tried any of their products, but we'd always heard good things. After a quick trip snack from Tasti D Lite, we managed to convince Mr. Man it would be a perfectly harmless shopping experience (which it was).
We were introduced to Coalface, a facial bar designed to extract dirt from pores, remove excess oil, and exfoliate. Our skin is the unruliest of unruliest, producing more oil than a refinery. This bar not only quickly removed any traces from our skin, but kept oil at bay all day long. It may not be the prettiest product, or have the best scent, but it certainly does the job. In fact, it's new nickname is Oil Tamer. It will always have a special place in our soap dish.
While we haven't tried it, our next coal product purchase will be Origins Clear Improvement ($20), a mask which uses Active Charcoal to cleanse pores and revive skin.
Recently, we were fortunate (and when we say fortunate, we MEAN fortunate) to attend the Heatherette for MAC press preview. We joined fellow members of online media in addition to traditional press outlets for an exclusive sneak peek at the full collection. Our "dirty little secret" was short lived as someone had the audacity to ebay the full collection and then some.
While rumors are being whispered about the dirty deed doer being a member of the blogsophere, we're not convinced. We were not the only people in attendance, and we feel confident in saying that the bloggers we interacted with were grateful, sincere, and far too excited to be releasing any of the collection from their clutches.
We understand that collections are leaked all the time, however we feel personally disappointed as we are still awestruck by the experience and generosity the MAC team bestowed upon us that night. Out of respect, we will not be posting any images until March 24 when we will bring you an in-depth review.
Whoever you are, shame, shame, shame on you! Your greedy fingers are making us all look bad.
We realize that we skipped out on Day Three, and we promise you didn't miss much. Thankfully, we were home, tucked safely in bed. We're back bright & early for Day Four, so buckle up for some Fashion Week gossip!
Arriving at 8:15 am: Carolina Herrera, for her 10:00 am show, looking stunning and impossibly flawless. Now THAT is how to age gracefully!
9:35 am: Andre Leon Talley (ALT) swiftly running into Peter Som.
Coco Rocha is a busy girl, already strutting for Peter Som & Carolina Hererra. Other top models already making an appearance include Hilary Rhoda, Ikelene Strange, and Jessica Stam.
Spotted: The Daily Telegraph's Hilary Alexander walking with a cane in the lobby. What happened dear?
Rumor Mill: Lauren Conrad & Whitney Port are working for People's Revolution. Does that mean we'll have to actually get to see Kelly Cuntrone's head explode on camera instead of just reading about it? Stay tuned!
Blind item: Which magazine's staffers rudely bullied their way into seating at a table, only to run off the original occupants? (Post your guesses as comments, and we'll tell you tomorrow!)
Annoyance of the Day: Perez Hilton, occupying the MAC both for four hours while he was being "interviewed". Apparently, he cannot blog with the common working class folk and must occupy scarce power outlets out of greed. Boo you whore.
Last Night @ Baby Phat: Andre Leon Talley and Kimora Simmons have kissed and made up. At least enough to bring her ad dollars to Vogue.
Last Night @ Victorya Hong's show: Assorted Project Runway cast members, including Jay McCarroll, Jack McEnroth, Elisa Jimenz, Christian Siriano, and of course Victorya Hong.
Seen around the tents: Nicky Hilton, Nikki Blonsky, Sophia Bush, Laura Bennett, Jack McEnroth and Ellen Pompeo.
Boring day. Rude people. Too much caffiene.

Red Heart Truth Show: Front row Nigel Lithgow, from America's Next Top Model. Heidi Klum, Sarah Ramirez, Molly Sims, Anna Ortiz, and Liza Minelli walked the runway. Liza closed the show with a phenomenal performance of New York, New York.
BCBG: Carine Roitfeld and Julia Restoin Roitfeld front row. Their expressions can only be described as bored, bored, and bored. Chanel Iman walked the runway.
Must Watch Of The Day: Rubin Singer - check him out!
Patrick McDonald, Lauren Ezersky and Fern Malis were of course seen roaming around the tents.

As you may have noticed, Style IT has been inconsistent lately. We have once again been pulled into the vortex of madness known as New York Fashion Week. Fortunately for you dear readers, we will have plenty to write about in the coming weeks, including the Alexander Wang afterparty, the launch of Iqons magazine, and a drugstore dupe for Smashbox Photofinish Primer (we swear!).
Hang tight, as we plan on updating as often as possible during Fashion Week. It's always a bumpy ride!
