Holiday Gift Guide: Sleek Cleaning Appliances
(click through for the full story) It's hard to find appropriate hostess gifts. I'm not particularly thrilled to bring a bottle of win or a basket of food - they're all so expected. I love reasonably priced gifts that people can actually use, and that is exactly what I love about the Dirt Devil KWIK. A vacuum priced at $32.99? Really?
Holiday Gift Guide: Dirt Devil Designer Series
You probably feel the same way I do about vacuum cleaners - they're expensive and they remind you that you have housework to do, right? After experiencing the Dirt Devil Designer Series, I've had to reconsider my thoughts. Not only are these cleaning products sleekly designed, but they're relatively inexpensive.
The product I had an opportunity to try out was the KWIK, a sleek detail vacuum. I had never seen such a vacuum - particularly because this doesn't look like a vacuum. To be honest, it looks more like a $300 futuristic phone than a cleaning appliance. For only $32.99, you can give the gift of clean to your college bound child, the hostess of your latest party or as a hint to your significant other.
What I loved about it: Obviously, the design was the biggest WOW factor with the KWIK. It's a vacuum cleaner - it does what it's supposed to and does it well. I found it very hand in my New York City apartment, where I have hardwood floors and a dog that likes to shed more than I'd like. The slim nozzle makes it easy to pull hair from those hard to reach places and all around my desk.
What I didn't love: I'm not thrilled that the KWIK charges via usb (standard packaging). I am as high tech as the next girl, but I always run low on usb ports and it's difficult to keep something like an applicance charging for the standard 16 hours before first use. I would have preferred a larger bag to catch all the hair my dog produces, but it is certainly adequate.
If you're looking for gifts on a budget, the KWIK makes a great choice. If you're in the market for similarly designed appliances that pack more punch, check out th entire Designer Series by Dirt Devil.
Holiday Gift Guide: Dress Your Lips
Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme
$9.99
Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Treats
$9.99

A great lipgloss has the ability to transform a woman multiple times a day. Just think about the number of times per day you change your lip color and how magical that change can make you feel. That's why every day I carry at least three lip colors - I can never pin-point what direction my moods are going to take over the course of the day. Every woman deserves options, and you deserve to give them to her - in the form of the perfect Holiday gift.
Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Treats
I simply adore this set of sheer lipsticks and glosses. It's perfect for any woman, young or old. Teens will adore the neutrality of the sheer colors and glosses and women of any age will enjoy the compact size. Made of 97% naturally derived ingredients, I dare you to find a woman these aren't perfect for. Sally Hansen products are found in drugstores nationwide.
Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme Holiday Set
There are many lip products out there with the promise of plumping your lips - some deliver, some don't. Similar to another major branding utilizing cinnamon for plumping but at half the price, Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme delivers. The initial shock of cinnamon certainly takes some getting used to, but once you get acclimated you'll wish for the sting again and again. The bee stung lip result is better than collagen injections without the pain or "ugly" period. For the Holiday season, Sally Hansen has created an adorable gift set, complete with a gold encased, full sized Lip Inflation Extreme, plus 2 mini sheer pink glosses in a darling lip pouch. Pucker up! Sally Hansen products are found in drugstores nationwide.
Dianne Brill Panties In A Bunch
Former party girl Dianne Brill has turned her glamorous blonde-bombshell status into a successful cosmetics line. In her aptly named gift set, Panties In A Bunch, each gloss is named after a type of panty. Each pot of gloss is wrapped like a bon-bon, helping remind you that makeup should be a treat to yourself. Unlike other cosmetics companies, Brill pays equal attention to the packaging and the product. The sublimely pigmented colors are tacky, not sticky, although I would highly recommend applying the gloss with a brush vs your finger. If you're looking for a gift set that both delivers and delights, give the gift of Dianne Brill.
