I can't count the number of people I have seen playing a Nintendo DS Lite on the L train, but it was many my interest was piqued. How could someone play a game on a screen so small? What was the big attraction? Little did I know that a 30 minute train ride would suddenly dissolve into a seemingly 5 minute experience. I became entranced playing Mystery Case Files: Millionheir. If you thought handheld video games were for kids, you were mistaken. There are a number of games for the DS designed to improve vision, brain function and memory. If you have a commute that requires an ipod, consider the DS. Besides, who couldn't stand to improve their brain function?
To all those distressed online publishers: Fear not, your New York Fashion Week registration may not be permanently denied. Today I spoke with Anthony Randall, who handles Media Registration for the event. A "system error" caused many applications to be automatically denied, without being reviewed. When I asked if IMG had created a stricter set of guidelines for approval, Mr. Randall informed there was no change from previous seasons.
Bryant Park veterans are pulling out the tents at an alarming rate - so far Alice Temperly, Vera Wang, Betsey Johnson, and Carmen Marc Valvo have released statements confirming they won't be holding the grand shows we've become accustomed to. Most houses are instead opting for a much smaller presentation at their showrooms, for a more intimate crowd as few as 150.
What does this mean for online media? It means that the majority of us won't be able to cover the shows we previously covered in the way we have become accustomed. New York Fashion Week Version 2.5, The Recession Edition will be a vastly different landscape.

Fresh off the DJ booth from Popbytes - DJ Paul V has created this delightful Destiny's Child Holiday mashup. Between this song, entitled Pumping Up Christmas, and Lady Gaga's Christmas Tree, my ipod has officially been Christmased.
This morning Hulu delivered a delightful surprise - A Muppet's Christmas: Letters To Santa. We can't help but get in the Holiday spirit while watching the delightful characters from The Muppets attempt to deliver letters to Santa - even if they claim Santa doesn't use the internet (total bs in my opinion). Watch for Hollywood cameos from Jesse L. Martin, Uma Thurman, Jane Krakowski, Nathan Lane, and Petra Nemcova. As The Jet Set Girls so kindly pointed out over Twitter, don't forget to look for Miss Piggy's daring fashion choices, including pairing leopard gloves with a brocade jacket. Classic!
Any pop culture relevant post would not be complete without a Britney Spears mention. Her song, My Only Wish This Year, is a complete Christmas classic. Don't forget to support Britney's "comeback" album, Circus, because the world could certainly use some cheering up!
