Fashionistas Find New Home

Remember those fashionistas left homeless after Jane folded? They have been conveniently reassigned to CosmoGirl. “When real life interferes with reality TV, it makes for great television, No one could have anticipated that the closure of Jane magazine would become part of the show's plot and that we'd have a new player enter the scene” said general manager of SoapNet Deborah Blackwell.
The Fashionista Diaries premieres on SoapNet August 1st. In case you haven't heard enough about this show, check out all the paid posts (excuse us, advertorials) on Fashionista.com.

Hot Summer Read: The Dressmaker

Claude Reynaud was a small time tailor with haute couture skills, tucked away in a small town in France. Customers, mostly referred to him by word of mouth, kept his calendar full with special occasion dresses and new suits. A simple man, he was quite content following in his fathers footsteps from his quaint studio, accompanied only by his parrot, Pendant.
Claude was known for his keen eye and exquisite taste, so it's no surprise Valentine de Verlay traveled out of fashionable Paris to request Claude design her wedding dress. From the moment he saw her, it was love at first sight...
...and we wouldn't dare spoil the rest! Follow Claude and Valentine in The Dressmaker by Elizabeth Birkelund Oberbeck for worldwide tales of Fashion Week, Couture houses and romance. Too Much Direct Marketing

Hearst Magazines Digital Media is partnering with advertisers in order to get more in touch with teens -- and their wallets. The new website, mybacktoschoolshopper.com, partners Hearst with Neutrogena, JC Penney and Mead as well as seventeen.com, teenmag.com and cosmogirl.com.
In order to hit teens and parents right before back-to-school shopping takes place, mybacktoschoolshopper.com will promote more than 200 products predicted to "hit it big" for the back-to-school season.

Sweeten Up!
There are many aromas which claim to be stress relieving or relaxing, ranging from lavender, to chamomile to sandalwood and rosemary. We feel there is one significantly overlooked scent that is guaranteed to calm you down in an instant: chocolate.
Initially, we were curious and a bit taken aback at the idea of chocolate scented body products. Sure a Snickers is the perfect stress reliever at the end of a rough day, but could body products do the trick? Fortunately we took the plunge and tried Upper Canada's Body Truffles. We're in love! Not only do we get to enjoy most of the benefits of chocolate without the calories, Body Truffles is reasonably priced.
Body Truffles is a range of chocolate scented moisturizers, cleansers and scrubs featuring three scents: creamy milk chocolate, double chocolate raspberry and Belgian white chocolate. We had the pleasure of testing the body crème, lip butter, massaging soufflé and the warming fondue scrub.

Our favorite product by leaps and bounds was the warming fondue scrub in Belgian White Chocolate. This scrub delivers as promised. It is a fine sugar scrub that warms as it exfoliates. It's a warm chocolate hug!
The body crème is a light yet effective formula of shea butter, almond oil, water and glycerin that is neither sticky nor greasy. Admittedly, the formula was impressive. Once we applied the lotion, the entire office flooded to our desk -- it smells that good!

We just had to use the Double Chocolate Raspberry Lip Butter. It smells great, it tastes great, plus it's primary ingredient is shea butter. Last but not least, the creamy milk chocolate massaging soufflé gave us the perfect excuse for a back massage from the man in our life, and we give the experience two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Overall, if you're a chocolate lover, then you'll definitely love scent and quality of Upper Canada Soap's Body Truffles.
Wang Meets Blahnik
Alexander Wang is producing a line of handbags and shoes in conjunction with Manolo Blahnik for his upcoming runway show. Using worn lambskin, Wang will create both cargo and hobo bags, price from $500 - $650. "I thought it would be a great opportunity to bring some young fresh breath into the house of Manolo. You can still see his stamp, of course, but the styles are fresh. I leaned away from the heels that people know" said Wang.

Inspired by "Working Girl", Blahnik & Wang will revive the pointy toe flat and the 4" Poneope bootie in monochrome suede/patent combinations. Blahnik isn't Wang's only collaboration for the upcoming show -- Bumble & Bumble mastermind Erin Wasson will work her magic, and after party go-ers will enjoy DJ Steve Aoki.
