Harpers Bazaar must be desperate for newsstand sales. After putting celebutards Paris & Nicole on the cover of their July issue (a hotly discussed topic), the magazine attempted to dress up and class up the two trashy ladies. Wrapping a bag of trash in Chanel still doesn't change the fact that it's a bag of trash.

Putting celebrities on the cover of magazines has always been a hot issue. However, Harpers Bazaar has teetered over the edge by placing celebutards (ie those who are famous for nothing) on the cover of their July issue. In some sense, I understand placing celebrities on covers for film promotion purposes (though it does get annoying), however publicizing two women known more for their cat fights, stylists and ridiculous reality series is too, too far. I'm ashamed to even call this a fashion magazine.
WWD has ranked the top celebrity & fashion relationships, based on the number of doors which the celebrities sell in. While the list includes such pop divas such as Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff, Jennifer Lopez, and Beyonce's House Of Dereon, there are a few surprises.

Ranking #1 on the list, with 5,100 doors was teen queen Hilary Duff, riding on the success of both her With Love fragrance and Stuff By Hilary Duff. Urban labels Baby Phat, Apple Bottoms by Nelly and Rocawear by Jay-Z round out the top four, each in approximately 3,000 doors.
Mary-Kate and Ashley also make a valiant effort, coming in at #5 with 3,000 doors. The number of retail locations drops significantly at #6 with G-Unit by 50 cent selling at only 1,110 locations. The rest of the lines sell at 1,000 doors and less, with House of Dereon at #7, Daisy Fuentes by Daisy Fuentes at #8, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani at #9, William Rast by Justin Timberlake at #10, Edun by Bono at #11, J'Aime by Jaime Pressly, and JLO by Jennifer Lopez coming in at #12.
The celebrity-turned designer craze isn't over - even if the market is oversaturated. Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberly has signed a lingerie deal with Ultimo, Paris Hilton has an apparel line ready to launch for back-to-school, plus Sienna Miller and Salma Hayek's collaborations with their sisters, not to mention swirling rumors of Naomi Campbell, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes-Cruise, and yet another Jennifer Lopez line.
Are there any celebrities you wish would put out a line? Any you wish would stop?

Life's a party when you're Richie Rich and Travor Rains. While many people have criticized them for making too much of a spectacle at New York Fashion Week, I respect them. Their collections always remind me that clothes are full of life, and a woman should have fun when she gets dressed. Every day should be a new adventure, a new party, another reason to be happy. Their Fall/Winter 2007 was no different, as the theme was The Wizard of Oz, complete with Lydia Hearst as Dorothy. Paris Hilton was no where to be found, while Kimora Lee Simmons flashed back to her modeling roots as she took her turn on the catwalk. View the entire collection courtesy of Coutorture.

Day Four at the tents brough us the typical assortment of editors, writers, socialites, former models and celebrities with a few unexpected twists. Andre Leon Talley (Wearing a jacket from Baby Phat's Fall/Winter 2007 emblazed with "I am the real american dream"), Anna Wintour, Plum Sykes, Meredith Melling Burke and Carine Roitfeld, along with Candy Pratts Price from Style.com. Helena Christenson, Amber Valetta, Kimora Lee Simmons and Roberto Cavalli also made an appearance. Batting for the socialites included Lee Radziwell, Tinsley Mortimer, Camilla Bell, and Ivanka Trump. Hilary Alexander, Lauren Ezersky and Patrick McDonald made their daily pilgrimage to the tents. Of course Rachel Zoe was there observing for her 'celebrity clients.' Leading the pack with the most strange celebrity appearance was Michelle Rodruigez, complete with the latest accessory, an ankle bracelet to track her every move! Also stopping for the photo ops were Carmen Electra, Kim Catrall, Katharine McPhee, Lauren Conrad, and Amber Tamblyn.
Don't expect Tuesday's turnout to be any less tame, as the circus that is Heatherette, complete with Lydia Hearst, Paris Hilton and Alice In Wonderland invades the tents.
