As I got Spring-ready yesterday, I turned to my favorite no-fail products for looking bare-leg worthy.
Schick Intuition Razor
As much as this might be considered embarrassing, I'm going to admit that I hate shaving. I'm 6'2" and it takes me a heck of a long time to shave these tree trunks, which is exactly why I love the Schick Intuition razor. It makes it quick and easy, without having to worry about shaving cream or razor burn, a few quick swipes and you're done. Perfect for those early morning shaves when you don't have the time or energy to focus. If you haven't tried it yet, make it your first Spring necessity.
ModelCo Airbrush Tan In A Can
I've read a lot of negative things my peers have to say about this product. The truth is, I've had pretty negative experiences with the majority of self tanners on the market. I figured I might as well give this one a shot because I was going to have a tanning disaster any way I went about it. If you use it correctly, Tan In A Can will blow your mind. Here's the trick: Take a shower, exfoliate well, and towel dry. While you're still in the shower, spray a fine mist over your legs and rub it in. When you're done, rinse your shower and wash your hands. Voila! Now you have glowing, bronzed legs.
The PedEgg
Conversely, the PedEgg is everything my peers says it is and more. The trick is to use it on dry feet. That's right folks, completely dry feet. You don't need to soften callouses for this product to work. It thrives off dry, craggy feet. Pedi-perfection!
Lush's Fair Trade Foot Lotion
Not only are you supporting Fair Trade economies, you are getting tingly, well moisturized feet as well when you use this product. Smells like peppermint and soothes with a cooling sensation. It's a win-win, no?

Sarah's Obsessions: Holiday Party Season

In case you haven't noticed, I like makeup. Actually, I really love makeup and I also like to help people learn how to use it. Ever since my mother bought a second refrigerator for the garage to hold her perfume, nail polish and extra products, I've learned that makeup is something that deserves to be treasured - a product can change your whole life. I'm fortunate enough to be able to see a large quantity of products, which creates a large number of loves. Every so often, I'll be rounding up five products I need at the moment.
Susan Posnick ColorFlo Mineral Foundation in Shimmer
I love that the Holidays are an excuse to wear sparkle and shimmer. It can be ridiculous or it can be subtle, but as long as you're wearing it, you're in season. Initially, I thought that the shimmer would be much better suited for shoulders, arms and decolletage, but before an event one night I bit the bullet - it was intended for the face and gosh darn it, that is where I shall wear it. Amazingly, not only is the shimmer subtle enough to conceal and brighten, but the powder actually provides a decent amount of coverage. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for day use, but the ColorFlo in Shimmer is perfect for an evening out.
ModelCo Lip Lights in Sienna Sunset
I chose the Sienna Sunset color on a whim - I'm typically a much brighter and pink-hued type of gal. What drew me to the color was it's peachy brown undertones. It enhances my lips to make them warmer without making me look like I'm wearing a lot of color. ModelCo Lip Lights are a really fun line of lip glosses that come complete with a mirror and an automatic LED light in the wand. No more worrying about putting on lip gloss in dark corners - Lip Lights lights the way.
3 Custom Color Specialists Eye Clarifier Pencil in Light
I, like many of you, read the "tip" to use a white eyeliner on the inner rim of your eye to brighten and make your eyes look bigger. Naturally, I ran to the local drugstore and picked up a Wet N' Wild pencil for $0.99 to give it a try. Of course it ended disastrously. The white pencil ended up clumping all over my lower lashes and the white was blaringly obvious. How on earth does someone actually get this to work? After meeting with Trae of 3 Custom Color Specialists, she explained to me that most people feel this way. After realizing there was a need for a product that actually worked to brighten and open eyes, 3 Custom created the clarifier pencils. They come in 2 shades, light and dark, and are essentially concealer pencils with a fine point designed to camouflage the inner rim of the eye. The product works so well that Trae informed me that this pencil is used on movie and tv sets - if that isn't testament enough, I don't know what is. Another fun tip - I use the pencil to enhance my cupids bow for a standout pout.
Le Metier De Beaute Sheer Brilliance Lip Gloss in Audrey
After a particularly disastrous beauty event at Bendel's, I wandered over to Bergdorf's beauty pit - it's much more refined, less pressure and far more brands. It was there that I discovered Le Metier Beaute and the counter manager, Eddie. Needless to say, he welcomed me into a word full of luxury color cosmetics one can only dream of. Of course, they come attached with a luxury price tag, but beauty does have it's price. I was immediately drawn to a lush purple flecked with micro-gold sparkles. The color, named Audrey, was co-designed by Eddie, and from what I can tell is only available at the Bergdorf Goodman counter (can't locate it online at the brand site or NeimanMarcus.com). I'm a sucker for a good purple lip gloss and Audrey has just the right balance of berry and purple combined with a sheer slick, not sticky, formula. I love to put it over lipstick that has worn down or by itself. It now has a constant space in my travel makeup bag - I never know when the Audrey mood will strike.
Alima Pure Eyeshadow in Bette
I have a hard time with blue eyeshadows - they're either too bright or too dark that they end up muddy looking. A good, true navy is a hard color to come by, so you can imagine my surprise when I found the perfect shade from a mineral makeup company. As I've mentioned before, I'm not necessarily a mineral makeup kind of gal, so my experience is limited. Bette is an amazing shade of blue (pictured above on the far right). Without a mixing medium it is hard to achieve the desired shade of navy, but once a medium is used the color payoff is incredible. Bette is only available as part of the Holiday Silver Screen collection - the other shades are stunning, so it's not a bad investment. $2 of the purchase price is donated to the Global Fund For Women.
