(Admittedly, I understand that I am SO behind on this news. However, helping the environment is always a good thing!) Back in August, Lush announced a new reformulation of their soap products in an effort to significantly reduce the amount of palm oil needed to manufacture their soaps. The three year process lead to a new palm oil free soap base - Lush is the first cosmetics company to take a stand against the palm oil harvested from the Indonesian Rainforrest.
While my mom was here, we stopped by the SoHo Lush location to take part in a pledge to reduce our palm oil consumption. She had a wonderful time, transferring her handprint to the store windows and learning about the deforrestation of the Indonesian rainforrest in the process.

As I got Spring-ready yesterday, I turned to my favorite no-fail products for looking bare-leg worthy.
Schick Intuition Razor
As much as this might be considered embarrassing, I'm going to admit that I hate shaving. I'm 6'2" and it takes me a heck of a long time to shave these tree trunks, which is exactly why I love the Schick Intuition razor. It makes it quick and easy, without having to worry about shaving cream or razor burn, a few quick swipes and you're done. Perfect for those early morning shaves when you don't have the time or energy to focus. If you haven't tried it yet, make it your first Spring necessity.
ModelCo Airbrush Tan In A Can
I've read a lot of negative things my peers have to say about this product. The truth is, I've had pretty negative experiences with the majority of self tanners on the market. I figured I might as well give this one a shot because I was going to have a tanning disaster any way I went about it. If you use it correctly, Tan In A Can will blow your mind. Here's the trick: Take a shower, exfoliate well, and towel dry. While you're still in the shower, spray a fine mist over your legs and rub it in. When you're done, rinse your shower and wash your hands. Voila! Now you have glowing, bronzed legs.
The PedEgg
Conversely, the PedEgg is everything my peers says it is and more. The trick is to use it on dry feet. That's right folks, completely dry feet. You don't need to soften callouses for this product to work. It thrives off dry, craggy feet. Pedi-perfection!
Lush's Fair Trade Foot Lotion
Not only are you supporting Fair Trade economies, you are getting tingly, well moisturized feet as well when you use this product. Smells like peppermint and soothes with a cooling sensation. It's a win-win, no?
Made with Russian pine oil for courage and constancy and American peppermint, a symbol of friendship and love. It has sweetie oil from an Israeli grapefruit mixed with a secret perfume from the Arabian Sahara. It should work on those of us concerned with international peace processes and those that just want to stay calm for meetings or dates with really nice people.
LUSH makes sure to use recycled materials for our packaging and shipping but we also recycle some of our oldies-but-goodies to the RETRO LUSH collection available exclusively online. So, celebrate Earth Day with a calming bath that as good for you as it is for the world
(note: I still don't have internet service in my home, but thanks to Jim and James from Cablevision, there's a possibility they might remedy that tomorrow. Cross your fingers!)
Personally, I've never been one to hit the bars in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. I prefer to stay away from the madness and celebrate in private (aka drink at home with good tv). Whether you share my same style or paint the town green, there's no reason you can't steal some luck of the Irish yourself - with Lush's Luck of the Irish bath bomb. Not only is it clover shaped, but it harnesses the powers of Avocado and Olive Oil to make your skin super soft - not to mention the fact it turns your bath water a fabulous shade of green.
This bit of green will only cost you $7.95. Isn't a chance on luck worth it?
