Someone once said to me, "You know, there should really be a site like Gossip Girl." Great idea my friend, but there already is one. Twitter is your one stop shop for gossip, insider quips and the latest news before anyone has the opportunity to write a finely crafted post about this season's offerings. However, Twitter is also a great outlet for those with opinions to spout them freely. This season has seen many high profile editors take to tweeting like a fish to water. Perhaps many, myself included, should start thinking before we Tweet. Which brings me to my point...
Models are a hot topic of discussion every season. They're too white, too thin, too tall, too short...well there's always something wrong with the models. This season is no different, but the hot new trend on Twitter seems to be the model fall watch. "OMG model down!" Wow, what a shock - a woman forced into shoes 2 sizes too small cannot walk in 5" heels. Why don't we make a big deal about it and act like it's the end of the world?
To be quite honest, I'm proud of these girls. They show amazing poise and confidence when they do take a tumble, yet they pick themselves up and keep going. Not to mention, the audience is generally quite supportive and claps as she resumes her strut. While they may be "too thin" or "too white", why don't we celebrate their professionalism? Perhaps those too concerned with who "greased the runway" could use a little more professionalism themselves.
